CDFI Head Lauds The DOF at Federal Reserve

Donna J. Gambrell, Director of the US Department of the Treasury’s CDFI Fund, spoke at the opening reception of the “Opportunities for Community Development Finance in the Disabilities Market Conference,” held at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., on February 2, 2010.

Director Gambrell highlighted the economic and financial needs of people with disabilities.

The interactive “Disabilities Market Lab” brought key decision makers together to discuss opportunities for the community development finance field to expand its focus on projects that serve the disabilities market. The event was co-sponsored by the Disability Opportunity Fund, the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and Wall Street Without Walls and brought together experts from disability and community development organizations, the public sector and financial institutions.

“I cannot tell you how pleased I am to support and contribute to this pioneering exchange of ideas on what I consider to be an extremely important emerging area for the CDFI industry,” said Director Gambrell. “This conference is an opportunity to catalyze support for furthering the cause of a critical and cross-cutting issue.”
